Whether you are looking to meet new people, gain work experience, learn more about your natural surroundings or would simply like to improve your mental and physical health, then joining Lower Burgh Meadow Conservation Group could be for you.
We welcome new members at the group; it’s completely free to join and open to anyone, though we do ask if you are under 16, that you bring a parent or guardian along.
All the tools needed for the day are provided – all you need to bring is yourself, though we ask that you wear suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy footwear.
Workdays generally start at 10am and finish around 1pm. You don’t need to book in advance, though if it is your first time we would recommend letting us know you’re coming.
Whatever task we do, the aim is always to enjoy yourself. We have members of all ages, both men and women. There is no commitment required, you can stay for as long as you like and everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace.
If you would like to join the group, please email LBMconservationgroup@gmail.com for more information or call 07393 647557 for an informal chat.
We recommend that your tetanus vaccination is up to date.
Work days and meetings are held once a month, take a look at the Group Meetings and Workday Schedule.
Come along and join an enthusiastic and diverse team who share a common goal; to look after the meadow and woodland and help the wildlife on the meadow to flourish. Volunteering will help you to keep fit and well whilst out in the fresh air – with the added bonus of being part of a supportive and fun group!
